Governors Island will kick off summer Memorial Day weekend with the inaugural 5 Boro PicNYC this weekend. Staged at the tree-lined Colonel’s Row, 5 Boro PicNYC will showcase small food vendors and craft beer from all five boroughs in NYC. Governors Island will be open every Saturday and Sunday from May 26 to September 30.

A Free Dose of New York Phil

If your answer is “no,” you should definitely consider checking out Tomás Saraceno’s “Cloud City” at The Metropolitan Musem of Art. Saraceno, an incredibly talented Argentine artist, has put up a constellation of interconnected, futuristic modules for the museum’s roof garden.

“Cloud City” will allow you and your date to not only experience Saraceno’s creative efforts to incorporate various ideas in architecture, physics, chemistry, aeronautics, ecology, and engineering into his artwork but also enjoy a romantic tour under these breathtaking modules.
