Getting Over a Breakup with Calvin Harris

Getting Over a Breakup with Calvin Harris

Let’s face it, getting over a breakup is one of the hardest things to do in life. And to be honest, it sucks! But you know what doesn’t…Calvin Harris’ music. We found some of his songs can actually help you through the process of getting over your former boo.
“Sweet Nothing” – The Beginning of the End
Not trying to bring up any bad memories, but the healing process starts here. Almost every person has experienced a bad breakup and remembers where it all started. The “Sweet Nothing” video shows how bad it can get between two people in a relationship and serves as a reminder of how we must move on.

“Thinking About You” – He/She is still on your mind
It’s completely natural to still think about your ex after you separate. After spending so much time with one person, you can’t completely forget the memories you created together. But if you want to completely forget about things between you two, the next bit is just for you!

“Bounce” – Yeup, it’s definitely over… Now let’s get crazy and forget about it
At this stage your friends will hit you up to go out because you might still be sulking in your house or apartment and have not seen the light of day for a good week and a half. The only thing to do in this situation is to HANG OUT WITH YOUR FRIENDS. This can be are very great opportunity to de-stress about the whole ordeal and to have a great night out with your buddies at the local bar or dance club. You’re newly single and ready to mingle!

“Summer” – Time to meet some new faces
By now the terms like “Whats-his-face” or “Who?” have become valid replacements for that person you broke up with a while ago. That being said, you should take some time to go out on a few dates with some people who interest you. But don’t just limit yourself to the traditional dinner-and-a-movie date! Check to see what summer activities might going on in your area. Some common ones are movies at the park and music or food festivals.
Now keep in mind, these are just some of the phases you may encounter when getting over a breakup; this isn’t an exact formula that you have to precisely follow. You may want to go out and party it up right after your breakup happened, or you might just want some time to yourself. It all comes down to you and when you are ready restart your search for that one special person.

Dating Tips: How to Survive a Breakup

June 25, 2013/in Date Tips /by Guest Blogger

The following article is a guest post, courtesy of Lily Rudolph

I remember when my ex-boyfriend of three years broke up with me.  I couldn’t eat or sleep.  Instead I lay on my couch in tears, listening to Bright Eyes and drinking whiskey straight – and I am not a whiskey drinker.  It was my Dad, of all people, who gave me some of the best advice I’ve ever heard about breakups.  He said, “If someone tells you that they don’t want to be with you they are doing you a favor.”  Of course he was right, you don’t want to waste your time clinging to a one-sided romance.  Here are my tips on how to survive heartbreak the healthy way:
1. Embrace Your Artistic Side
Dating Tips
Paint or play music.  If you feel like you need more closure write a letter to your ex, just think twice before actually sending it.  If you are not naturally creative, blog sites like Urban Dater or Letter To My Ex can provide excellent inspiration or at least a bit of company for your misery.
2. Get Outside
Dating Tips
I know you are tired, and you probably don’t feel like doing much.  You just want to drown in your own sadness.  Just remember, energy breeds energy.  Even a short hike will release those endorphins and put things back into perspective.  For great outdoor deals that will cheer you up and add a little spring to your step check out The Clymb.
3. Indulge, Just a Little Bit
Dating Tips
You are going through a hard time, you are allowed to give in to at least some of your cravings.  For amazing recipes that taste good and are good for you check out Elana’s Pantry.  Now you can indulge without feeling guilty!
4. Positive Affirmations
Dating Tips
It is easy to blame yourself for what went wrong, but you shouldn’t beat yourself up.  Try to tell yourself positive things throughout the day.  Tiny Buddha is a great website for inspirational quotes and condolences.
5. Allow People to Bring You Up
Dating Tips
Never, under any circumstances, start a conversation with a stranger by saying, “I should tell you, I just got out of a serious relationship.”  NO you should not tell them that!  If you don’t have anything positive to bring to the table, let the others run the show.  Who knows?  Maybe they will distract you into having a good time.  If you don’t feel like meeting new people right now, that’s cool too.  Surround yourself with the people you love.
Remember, this too is temporary.  You will be back on your feet soon enough and CMB is always here to help with daily bagels and dating tips.  Good Luck!
