The hottest summer trends: Neons

June 12, 2012/in Date Tips, Uncategorized /by CMB

Have you noticed that neon colors are the hottest hues this summer? Don’t miss the fun of spicing up your wardrobe with neon-colored items!

We know that wearing neon can be a little intimidating, but just keep the following tips in mind, and you can be the hottest trendsetter in the crowd.

TIP1: For those who want to simply try the trend, stick with small hints of neon. You can also find little bits of neon on the soles of some shoes or the details of some clothes.

TIP2: You can try putting on neon accessories such as bracelets and necklaces. Neon bags and shoes can inject electricity into your neutral-colored wardrobe.

TIP3: For extra style points, wear neon items with beige tones for the perfect contrast.

To help you collect the best neon items, we’ve put together a shopping guide below. Take a look at our favorite neon clothes, shoes & bags!

Travelling Chic

May 29, 2012/in Date Tips, Uncategorized /by CMB

This is a picture of Brady, who owns a fabulous clothing store in LA called “Ten Over Six.” Garance Dore caught her when Brady was on her way to London!

She looks so chic, right? We wanted to share her looks for all of you planning a summer getaway!

Garance Dore’s Tips for a perfect look at the airport:

What you need (the Basic List):
1. Simplicity and elegance
2. A pair of super soft ballerina flats (like the ones from Chloe)
3. A skinny jean with a lot of stretch (Zara makes the perfect pair)
4. A cotton tee shirt
5. A vintage military jacket (not too light, not too heavy)
6. A great cashmere scarf (it can also be a blanky)
7. A pair of noise canceling headphones
8. That’s it! No belt, no jewelry, hair back.

Be-Extra-Prepared List
1. contention socks
2. hydrating lotion
3. dried fruits (a perfecta never eats in the plane, are you crazy, it’s too salty!!! What about water retention?!)
3. water bottle

Steal His Style: the Best Dressed Men at Cannes 2012

May 25, 2012/in CMB Says, Uncategorized /by CMB

Cannes Film Festival is celebrating its 65th anniversary this year, and some of our favorite stars pulled off the hottest fashion trends for the extravaganza. Use this fashion cheat sheet to dress up for your own “Cannes moment” this weekend.

Plus, as the saying goes, one picture is worth a thousand words; just looking at these fashionistas will make you feel stylish.

Tell us, which look best suits you?

1. Brad Pitt

Every guy has a white t-shirt. (If you don’t, you’re not a guy.) Match the plain t-shirt with a light-colored suit. White bucks and a white belt will show others that you didn’t mindlessly put on a nice jacket to hide your white loungewear.

2. Zac Efron

We love this trim fit! Zac really makes this checked suit classy yet youthful. Don’t forget to add the finishing touches: the pocket-square and the straight skinny tie are the must-haves for this look.

3. Gerard Butler

You may not notice anything special about this style at first, but look closely at how Gerard manages to keep a certain casualness about him. Forget about that tie your sister bought you for your birthday. Unbutton that shirt, and don’t be afraid to be sexy.

4. Ben Stiller

“White and black” may be too boring for a fashionable guy like you. Put on a colorful dress shirt while keeping everything else monochrome. If you aren’t ready to make a bold fashion statement yet, go for something understated like Ben’s slate grey shirt.

5. Alec Baldwin

He’s really looking good in this Zegna tux here. Got a party tomorrow night? Why not a tux and a bow tie? If a tux is too much for the party, you can replace that with a slick suit; but don’t get rid of the bow tie ;)

“One really warm day, a girl I was seeing called and invited me to hang out in her backyard. When I got there, she pulled out a bucket of water balloons and tossed one at me. Before I had arrived, she had filled them all up so we could have a water balloon fight. We had a blast. Plus, seeing her all wet and running around was really hot.” — Steven, 26

“I was going on a first date with this girl I had met at a bar. We were trying to come up with something to do and finally decided to check out this outdoor concert. It ended up being really fun and romantic. Being outdoors was cool and the music made it so there weren’t those awkward lulls in conversation. But at the same time, we could chat if we wanted to, unlike a movie where you can’t talk at all.” — Dean, 30

“I was at the store and saw a cheap, small grill. So I bought it and picked up some charcoal. Then, I called the woman I was seeing and invited her over for a cookout. We met at the grocery store and it was cool to pick out things to make together. Then, we went back to my place and started cooking. It was sexy to see her in the kitchen and really fun to make a meal together.” — Eric, 27

“It sounds really simple, but one of the best dates I’ve been on was when my girlfriend invited me to meet her at a local park for a walk. We spent over an hour walking around, talking, and looking at our surroundings. I liked it because it felt pressure-free. I didn’t have to worry about impressing her with a restaurant choice or wooing her. It was casual and low-key and that made it very cool.” — Brian, 23
