6 First Date Spots That Must Be Avoided

The feeling you get when your bagel likes you back is similar to that of a giddy tween girl about to go into her first One Direction concert. You’re excited, he/she said yes, you show your phone to your friends because you can’t believe it just happened. But now comes the hard part: Where do you go on that first date? Here is some first date advice on some places you should avoid when planning your meet-up with your bagel.
Night Clubs
Night clubs are places where you go to dance like there is no tomorrow, have a couple of drinks, and have a great night out with your friends. Clubs aren’t ideal for an outing with your date for many reasons. The most obvious ones are that the music is cranked up so high that you’re unable to understand each clearly and the fact that there are so many people around you that you can’t really have any privacy to get to know each other better.

“WHAT? I can’t hear you over the top 40s playlist the DJ is playing right now.”
Messy Food
If you’re thinking about grabbing a bite to eat for your first date, you may want to choose carefully. You can’t make the best first impression if your face or shirt is covered in hot sauce at your favorite restaurant that serves hot wings. It’s better to play it safe and meet up at a café or at a local coffee shop.

Let’s be honest, is this what your really want to look like while eating on the first date?
Movies
This option is a bit more on the border for some people. The traditional-dinner-and-a-movie date is great and all, but it would be pretty rude if you started talking to your date during a movie. It’s better to get to know your bagel over a cup of coffee than staying silent in a movie theater.

Bro, I don’t think she’s diggin’ you.
Protest/Political Rally
It’s great that you really care about your community. It’s also great that you have joined an organization whose members share your views and have taken action to promote change in society. But going on a first date to a protest or political rally? That is definitely a no go.

The “NO” signs mean don’t take your bagel to a protest for your first date.
Your House
Your house, or personal living space, should be off limits until you and your bagel are comfortable enough. You may be the chef who beat out Martha Stewart in a cook-off that one time, but show off those skills to your date after you have gone out a couple of times already.

You may have the nicest house on the block, but it still wouldn’t the best place for a first date.
The Gym
The gym is where people can go to get their fitness on to get in shape for what ever reason that maybe. While there is room for some social interaction with others, it most definitely is not the place for a first date. Sweating is a great sign of a good workout, but not always the best sight to see, especially when on a date. However, this is a great date idea if you and your bagel have been seeing each other for a while.

While going Super Saiyan is cool and all, it’s not too impressive on a first date.
